Example & Tips

This is the bit where everything comes together. Look at a
sample of handwriting and pick out five to eight dominant handwriting
movements. In the following example the writer has picked out ten for
herself.

Upright slant & varying
Broadness
Large size
Full middle zone
Garland connections
Clearly spaced lines
Connected & disconnected
Distinct pressure
Fullness
Simplified

Read the interpretations under the appropriate headings.

This will give you an overall view of the personality of the writer.

For a written report, this can be compiled on half a dozen pages or so,
and will look like the following:

Upright Slant and Varying

Unpredictable

Inwardly, you feel a little insecure and sometimes tend to be rather
unpredictable, changing your mind about things from time to time.
You try to take an independent stand on life and come to your own
conclusions, but influences from other people and your environment
constantly sway you. This, in turn, makes it difficult for you to come
to any firm conclusion.

Can understand others

You do have the advantage of being able to understand and deal with
most types of people in a sympathetic way, no matter how difficult they
may be. Others, however, may find it hard to comprehend your varied
nature, and to know where they stand with you.

Broadness

Adventurous spirit

You have a boldly adventurous spirit, with a certain added freshness.
You like to oblige and extend invitations to others in an extravagant
manner .

Broadminded

Generally speaking, people will get on easily with you because of your
broadmindedness and ability to express yourself freely. However, you
do have a tendency to exaggerate.

Fond of travel

If you were to develop your concentration for longer periods of time,
this would help you become more self-controlled. You enjoy the
freedom to spread yourself, which large rooms provide, and are very
fond of travel; especially to wide open spaces, because you very much
appreciate this form of beauty.

Large

Expressive

You like to express yourself to the full, in a manner appealing to others.
Thus, your wish to entertain guests generously will make you a first-class host.
Although essentially self-reliant, you do like and require the approval
of others, and would like to be thought of as being distinguished, even
outstanding.

Your desire for greatness leads you to develop your personality to the
full, and this gives you a courageous spirit and sense of adventure.
You also have the talent to lead others and the power to visualize
large-scale projects.

Full Middle Zone
Contemplation

You have inner realizations based upon contemplation, and good
assimilation of your own past experiences, which form the basis of your
sense of morality. You think things out for yourself and are committed
to idealistic feelings, rather than aspirations.

Communicative

You have no difficulty in communicating with anyone because you are
able to express your inner realizations and experiences in such a
meaningful way. Others benefit from these as well as enjoy hearing
them.

You look inward to find answers to all your problems relating to
material, social and intellectual matters. You have the ability to be fairly
contented within yourself and are satisfied with your lot. Therefore,
you are not as ambitious as others may be.

Garland Connections

Adjustable

You are concerned more with the spirit of the law than the law itself.
Hence, you exhibit an adjustable and easy-going nature. You have the
ability to relax at will and feel at home in the world. Moreover, these
attitudes are manifest by your desire and ability to avoid friction and
conflict, and to be patient and tolerant.
You can adapt easily to change of circumstances and environment as
well as being open to spiritual, emotional and social impressions and
influences.

Warmth

With your inherent natural capacity for warmth, responsiveness and
devotion, as well as being sensitive to the atmosphere, you are actively
ready to recognize and help others, hence a person of considerable
charm and attractiveness. However, on one hand you have creative
ability in your power of expression, but on the other hand you often
experience difficulty in getting down to tasks unless under pressure
from outside influences, so you need to resist the temptation to take
things too easily.

In a nutshell, there is a tendency to avoid unnecessary involvement
and stress because you require a smooth and even life, to enable you to
be ready to meet and establish a link with others, and to be of help to
them.

Clearly Spaced Lines

Clear thinking

You strive for clarity of thought, making sure not to get confused by
the complexities of life. Generally, you are able to make yourself
clearly understood by others. Not being as spontaneous as you
would like to be, you prefer to sleep on queries before making decisions.
Being well mannered, you expect the same treatment from others.
You like things to be clean and tidy and dislike any form of clutter .

Connected & disconnected

logic and intuition

You have a very good balance when it comes to using your faculties of
logic and intuition. Your ideas come from out of the blue, then you
reflect on them in a logical way to see if any of them are practical.

Although you cannot explain where you get your ideas, you can
explain your concepts to others by drawing on previous knowledge, so
that others will be able to follow your train of thought and understand
you.

Distinct Pressure

Good health
Most of the time you enjoy good health and strength, which comes from
good physical co-ordination and the natural habit of deep breathing.
You are alert and able to participate in life to the full.
You are a well integrated and notable personality, due to a depth of
experience in feelings, with a high degree of adaptability and balance.
You are able to deal with obstacles and experiences quite readily with
a firm hand, being quite definite. At other times you have a warmly
magnetic nature. You also appreciate a harmonious contrast of color ,
artistic arrangements and music at all levels.

Fullness

Creative imagination

With powerful, creative and all embracing imagination, you like to
experience the fullness of life. You want to move about freely without
any constrictions or inhibitions, and have a talent for being sociable.
Usually you are gentle and kindhearted, with a natural charm and grace.

Your exuberant and even boastful nature springs from an inner desire
to communicate and please others. When describing something, you
have the ability to stimulate other people's imaginations. This is due
to a good appreciation of the value of what is beautiful.

You have a strong inner desire to attract and retain many different
types of experience, so much so that you sometimes tend to indulge in
dreaminess.

Simplified
Clear thinking
You are an intelligent person who can usually receive an unclouded
picture of an idea or event. Generally, you have unbiased and unpreju-
diced opinions on what is significant and what is not, and need little
preparation for thought and action. Basically, you like to simplify issues,
in order to cut out the unnecessary and superfluous, and to keep to the
essentials. You also cultivate good taste.

The second part of the exercise is to look for anything else that stands out.
Hold the handwriting upside down and at arms length and see if
anything disturbs the rhythm or flow of the writing.

This shows us what is going on in the person's life at the time of
writing.

I. In this example we can see a simple mistake made in the fourth line.
The word 'easy' was started off wrongly and then corrected. Similar
mistakes are made with the encircled numbers. This is not due to
lack of intelligence, but to being a little nervous about others looking
over her shoulder while doing the task. She works far better when
left on her own to do a job in her own way. (Knowing that someone
is going to analyze your handwriting can put one off key as well.)

2. The 'y' loop cuts through the middle zone in the word 'varying' on
the fifth line. This person is inclined to be a little too critical of
herself. It is a little like the crossing out of a signature, but not so extreme.
As you see, she is a wonderful, warm-hearted person with
a lot of creative ability, and there is no need for her to be so hard on herself.

With a little bit of sharpness on the end of the 'g's she is criticizing her own
creative ability. The habit of completing the
lower zone, as in the word 'large', would help her to bring her ideas
to fruition instead of criticizing them. So, in this case, the recom-
mendation of completing the lower loops is prescribed.

3. The letter 'd' in the word 'interested' goes leftward in the upper
zone. This shows a poetical turn of mind, and is found in the writing
of many authors. (Figure of eight 'g's are good for writers too.)

Examples of diligence loops can be found in the letter 'p' in the word
'hope', and 'b' in the 'be'. This shows that she is very careful and diligent
in her work: This is also emphasized by the correct dotting of the 'i's and
with her eye for detail.

Tips

When friends pop round looking for a word of advice, or simply Just to
pass the time of day, Open up this site and see how you get on.

You could start by looking at the handwriting sample in front
of you.  Click on the numberd links at the top of the page  and off you go.

If you are giving advice to others, be sure it is invited first and then
only give it in a non judgemental way.

There are other graphology books that can be very helpful once you
have got the knack. They will give you extra information that can be
used with this system.

If you like, you can compile a card index system. Or  files on your computer.
When information is given about a particular handwriting movement,
you can put it on the appropriate card. The more books you read, the
more information you can put on the cards. Make a note of the name of
the book and page number for future reference.

Honesty with yourself will be helpful, as the more you understand
yourself, good and bad bits alike, the more you will be able to under-
stand others and, thereby, lend a helping hand.

We are on this earth to help each other in the best way we know.

I hope that this site will assist you towards that end.
When you start practicing, you will be surprised just as much as the
person sitting in front of you, that you are getting it right. If there is
anything that stands out in the handwriting that you don't understand,
explain to your friend what it is and use your imagination to try and
work out what it means. Have a calculated guess and ask if you are right.
This will teach you quite a lot about graphology. See the writing as a
whole. Take notice of your first impressions, they are usually right.
Use this, along with what you know to be factual, and you will have
a good system working for yourself.

Sometimes, in the interpretations on a handwriting sample, you may
see contradictory paragraphs. For instance, microscopic with heavy
pressure. Both will be correct. Microscopic writers will go in on them-
selves like hermits, but when heavy pressure is in the same script, it will
intensify the writers' experience. Wanting to leave a mark on the world,
but not being expressive enough, can cause difficulties, as you can imagine.
If the writing became larger, then expression would not be so much of a
problem.

Another example is the right slant and narrowness. Such writers truly
desire to feel free to communicate with others, but the narrowness holds
them back. Hence, they will experience a certain frustration which results
in sometimes being quiet and withdrawn, and at other times expressing
themselves in spurts and starts; sometimes upsetting the apple cart.
They would feel more at home with broader writing, as this would
enable them to express themselves with greater ease.

The language of handwriting is a key to the psychological map of our
inner being at different levels. Some parts will be in harmony and
others, to be worked on, need harmony and rhythm, and establishing
this will show what is needed for the soul to learn. Some people find
this easier than others.

I usually ask a client to write about half a dozen lines of writing on
unlined paper, about A4 size.  It is also good to find out if the
person has more than one style of writing, as this will show different
aspects of character. On the other hand, it is surprising how much you
can get from a few words scribbled on the back of a beer mat.

If you do written reports without seeing the writer first, it is advisable
to ask for their age and sex. This information can act as a background
to what you say in the report. A younger person with mature handwriting
will be more confident in the world than others of the same age.

An older person with immature writing may well have had a poor education.
It is just using a little common sense.

Handwriting will change from one week to the next, in much the same
way as your face will change in times of happiness or sadness. Turn the
writing upside down and see if anything stops the flow. Whatever that is
will be an indication as to what is going on for the writers at the present
moment in time and, possibly, why they have come to you. Just see if
there is anything out of balance; explain what it means so that the client
can see for themselves and have a choice whether they wish to correct
the balance or not.

Understanding ourselves and others can teach us to accept people for
what they are, and to like them with all their bad points. After all, we are
all in the same boat and have different aspects of ourselves to work on.
Quite often you will find that the people you are able to help are also able
to help you, if you have an open ear .

If you wish you can  go back to the beginning and start on a few of the
eye training exercises. Learn how to see the writing as a whole with all
the details. It shouldn't take you long to get the hang of it.
You can practice on friends, if you haven't started already.
All I can do now is to wish you the best of luck with this adventure,
and may your inner guidance stay with you.

If I am not with a computer and I give a graphology reading
with the client sitting at the same table. After I have finished talking
I will give the client a printed copy of the handwriting list below
with the website address at the top.

I use a pencil and put a circle round all the handwriting
movements in the list that are in the clients handwriting.

When the client gets home and visits this web site,
they can look up all the circled handwriting movements
and print out their own handwriting report.

The handwriting list is where I start if the client is not
with me and I just have their handwriting.

I put circles round any handwriting movements they have
and then look up the pages, find the right sections,
copy, paste and print.
