The Form Standard

This is a term used to describe the overall view of the handwriting. It
shows how integrated a person is. For the Form Standard we look for
three things in the writing

I. Spacing
2. Originality
3. Speed

With the degree of spacing we look at the words, lines, and the layout,
or overall pattern. Do the lines mingle and words bump into each other?
Or, does every word have its own place with enough elbow room for the
margins? Is the layout good?
The answers to these questions show the degree of organizational
ability of the writers. How the writers organize the words on the page
will show how they organize their lives.

The degree of originality can be seen in how much the writers deviate
from the copy book, or how differently they write now to how they wrote
in school. This will show how original people are in their own way of
expression.

The degree of speed will show how spontaneous the writers are (you
can check out speed of writing by using the speed chart).
After a little practice, the Form Standard can be seen at a glance.
People with good spacing, originality and speed will be able to have an
overall view of a situation. They can organize events and procedures in
an original way, thus captivating an audience in a spontaneous manner.
People with a good Form Standard can be very helpful to society, if
they wish to be.

Those people with a poor Form Standard could do with a bit more
encouragement and help from others, as they tend to be slow, disorgan-
ized and in need of an artistic flare as means of self-expression.
The Form Standard is used to understand the quality of the
personality. Any unusual movements in the writing may cause a
dilemma when you are not sure if it has a positive or negative interpretation.
By using the Form Standard as a background to the handwriting
movements, this dilemma can be overcome. If the Form Standard is
of good quality then, generally speaking, unusual movements of the
pen will have a positive explanation.

If the Form Standard is poor, then the movements have a negative
interpretation. There are exceptions to the rule, for instance, a good
Form Standard with a brutal T bar. Such writers are still likely to be
aggressive, no matter how sophisticated they are.
I'll leave these finer observations to your own sense of artistic taste,
balance and rhythm.
