Strokes

The starting stroke, which comes before the first letter of a word,
shows the amount of preparation writers need to start any given project.
The end stroke, which continues after the word is finished, shows how
writers extend themselves to others.
The covering strokes show how such writers wish to cover up their
thoughts, and want to be secretive.

Preparations

An imagined lack of self-confidence means that you do not like to rush
into the new project. Preparations will be made before any job is
commenced. This is done to enable you to do the work properly. Those
same preparations, however, will be done again and again, thus holding
you up from doing the job, and slowing you down. If you  paid more
attention to the project, and less attention to getting ready to work, you
would be pleasantly surprised to see how successful you could be.

Your desire to make a good presentation would be achieved without any
problem. You have difficulty in seeing the wood for the trees, in that you
have slow comprehension in grasping the heart of the matter
immediately. However, once your mind is made up, you go to work with
zeal and energy.

Positively, you have a capacity for attention to detail, coupled with a
habit of careful consideration. You adapt to the circumstances of the
moment, before coming to a decision.

CASE HISTORY

I have a friend who comes to visit sometimes. She has many starting
strokes, so probably an extreme case. She generally turns up about a
week after expected, and when it comes to going out for a walk, she
takes ages to get ready. Mind you she looks as pretty as a picture and
nicely dolled up by the time 'we are ready to go.

Starting strokes can be compared to an anchor which holds onto the
past. If  you  let go of the anchor by omitting the starting strokes, then
a greater degree of spontaneity can be achieved. This will result in
a greater feeling of confidence when it comes to tackling any given
task.

Secretive

You tend to be secretive, in that you are sometimes unwilling to
disclose your thoughts to others.

NOTES

A covering stroke is when the pen makes a line and goes over it again.
This is generally seen in the upper zone. The letters 't' and 'd' have
prescribed covering strokes from the copybook, and ,therefore are not
counted as such. Letters 'b', 'f, 'h', 'k', 'l' do have prescribed loops
and therefore, when covering strokes are found in these letters,
such writers are concealing something, usually their thoughts.
